An Open Air Theatre in Cathedral Square

Every year outside the Cathedral an open air theatre is erected, and where, this year,  Puccini's Turendot will be performed.  I'm very lucky as I'm have a ticket for the opera on Saturday 27th August and am going with Monika and Ralph.  I do hope it doesn't rain.  On Saturday 24th is a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No 8, played by the Orchestra of the State Theatre.

It was very hot today, around 27c, and in the early afternoon while waiting for a tram, I sat in the shade of the Cathedral to watch the scaffolders at work.   Well some were working, others had slung their hammocks from the poles underneath what will be the auditorium, and were stretched out, snoozing in  the sun!   We had heavy rain tonight and thankfully, it is much cooler, although for tomorrow another hot day is forecast.  I will not moan, I prefer the warmth to the recent cold weather.   Summer has returned for a few days.
